Dungeon Flop is migrating to V3: a full rebrand and a careful rebuild of the game’s best ideas inside a stronger, more expandable foundation. The name, theatrical comedy, party tactics, and glorious dungeon disasters remain. The lobby, run flow, movement, abilities, content pipeline, co-op structure, and mod support are being rebuilt and polished around them.

Dungeon Flop is a real-time-with-pause tactical RPG where dungeon crawling meets disastrous theater. Pause to issue orders, then watch your questionable heroes do their best—or their worst—in real time.

Smash doors, plunder rooms, collect gear, build party synergies, and survive unpredictable encounters assembled from authored rooms, enemies, abilities, items, and events.

What V3 changes

V3 keeps the playable core while replacing brittle prototype systems with a cleaner run lifecycle, a more readable retro-desktop lobby, improved movement and enemy behavior, safer character progression, stronger loading and failure feedback, and a proper data-driven content pipeline.

Build your own bad ideas

The authoring tools cover items, ability recipes, classes, mobs, tiles, rooms, and dungeons. V3 adds a real package workflow with manifests, dependencies, validation, import and export, portable paths, and exact host mod checks. The long-term goal is a community-friendly mod ecosystem where players knowingly install the same safe, data-only packages before joining a run.

Current status

The V3 migration is active development, not a finished release. The core run loop is playable, while content volume, balance, performance, multiplayer playtesting, presentation, and final polish continue. This itch page is the development outpost; Steam is the main release and wishlist destination.

Some visual and promotional assets were created with generative tools under developer supervision. No live gameplay content is generated by AI.
